Today's Thought

There are two ways to get enough;
one is to continue to accumulate more and more.
The other is to desire less.

Back again

Today's challenge for the 365+1 is Classic.  Now classic we usually think of a car.  I don't have a classic car and there is no such car in our neighbourhood here.  But I do have a classic fridge.  A fridge from around 1950 and it is in working condition and used every day.

Our hope is that this fridge will outlive us.

New Photos

It has been a while since I posted on this blog so I decided to post the photos I am using for my class with Big Picture Classes called Photo Challenges with Elizabeth Dillow.  For 4 weeks Elizabeth will give us different challenges and the best part is explaining the challenge for us as well.  Just taking a photo is fine but knowing what to look for and how to take the photo is much more challenging of course.

Our first challenge was:

Taking a portrait from a unique angle.

This is my granddaughter enjoying a ride on a pony.
This picture I took last year while on holidays.  ( I have to photoshop it yet to take the pole out of his head.  LOL)

Challenge #2:   Action Photos
Feeding the animals
Shoving the dirt around

Challenge #3  Make a collage where you get an overall photo and also a close up.
This was my interpretation of it.
These are photos of the construction happening for our new addition to our house.

Challenge #4 is a group photo but I don't have one as yet.  Hope to do this one later.

Challenge #5 is a photo at Play.
Here are my kids trying to mimic a shape on a Play Station game.  This one they had a lot of fun with.
Again same game only we are a bit more serious in how we do this.

I will post more pictures as we get more challenges.

My 365+1 post again

I finished taking the photographs for the 365+1 challenge today.  For February 4 it was Listed and for today it was In a dish.  Fun prompts to work with.

Yes we have a few properties listed in our neighbourhood.  Not too many people looking though at the moment.  Rather than putting 3 individual pictures here I decided to put them together.

And my favourite subject to take pictures of - my cat.  This time the prompt was in a dish.  And yes the cat is in the dish alright eating his treats I had put in there,  Yes it is his dish so don't worry I won't serve any humans from this dish.

It has been awhile!!!

I see I was here last on January 26th.  I did take pictures but just have had enough time to post them.  I will be working on a scrap page to show my January pictures so they will show up in there.  Now we move on to February.  3 days done in February already but I have been keeping up with our daily prompts.  I really like this 365+1 concept and I sure hope I can keep it up throughout the year.

For February 1 we had the prompt  -  With a fast shutter speed.  After reading up on this and talking to my husband it basically is 'freezing' the frame.  This requires a fast moving object like a waterfall or something but I choose birds.  I took many and many pictures and the following 2 are my favourites.
One Hoary Red Poll and the rest are Common Red Polls

All Common Red Polls
February 2 was kind of different and took some thinking.  -- Makes my heart sing --
Well yesterday this guy made my heart sing.
Our cat Knorrepot getting a chin rub and a sun bath at the same time.
Today was Women's Heart Day so the prompt was -- Wearing Red --  No red for me today but I did order a T-shirt with Red print on it.  I will use this photo as my POTD.

This T-shirt is THE T-shirt for Load 212

Keeping up - More photos

Here are some more of the photos I have taken the last few days.  Again these are for the 365+1 photo album.  Yes I hope to, by the end of this year, have 365+1 photos to put into an album to show my 2012 year.

The subjects these time were:  Nails, Duplicate and Rust.

Any one in need of nails?

This is a picture of just a few of the nails we have at the house here.  My husband had the frame of our house build about 30 years ago and has since been finishing the inside on his own.  He is almost done but there are still a few things left to finish.  So we still need to keep a supply of nails on hand.

Treats for us and the animals
Yes we had to go shopping for treats for the deer, cats and ourselves.  As you can tell the deer eat way more than we do but I do hope this will last us for the next couple of months.  But the way they are eating and gathering around our bird feeders I doubt that it will be.  We now get 7 deer coming to feed on a regular basis.

Rust, rust and rust.
I believe this rake use to be green but I may be mistaken.  Yes rust is a normal occurrence here because we live close to a lake and that brings lots of moisture in our air.  Also it does not help when you leave your tools sitting outside of course.

More 365+1 photos

Some more of my 365+1 project photos.  It has been a very cold week here so photo taking was limited to the house more or less.

These are my last POTD

This photo has the subject EARLY.  Yes it is very early to see these tulips pop out of the snow.  I do have to admit that I cheated a bit but it looks real right?

Here is my photo for the subject My Little Word.  Which is DO for me.  And I had to input my data for the Feederwatch Canada project still.  It is done now and we are almost ready to do our next count for this week.

This photo has the subject "What is for Breakfast"  it  shows you what I eat every morning for breakfast.  The biscuit is part of the prop so it is not a regular item for my breakfast.

The breakfast was the subject for January 22.
